One and Three Boxes (after Kosuth One and Three Chairs), mixed media installation, 2021

This installation is a combination of a CMYK serigraph, serigraph folded boxes, and a found object from the moving scam my partner and I were involved in. Dealing with the insurance companies and trying to prove the absence of our belongings led me to meditate on the language that was being used by these financial institutions and how they were creating meaning within their own systems. It also explored ideas of semiology and proof with playing off work from art history.
Facility I, painted cardboard boxes and metal pins, 2021

This piece explored the formal qualities and similarities between architectural maps of medical facilities and the boxes that contain both prescription and over-the-counter medications. Both are elements of much larger functional systems, serving as containers for the substance or location of treatment.

Disability is Divinity, mixed media installation, 2022

This installation is a combination of fiber art, photography, painting and papercraft. The work subverts the expectation of what having a disability means, using the widely experienced visual language of a waiting room. What is usually a place of anxiety and confrontation is turned into a contemplative, sacred space where the patient is senior in their space.

Beautiful Liability, 2022, mixed media installation

This installation includes a motorized home medical bed, towers constructed from layers of medical bills and receipts, and salt. This piece reveals the hidden experience of grief as it relates to debt and medical intervention. It afforded unique opportunities to place some of my other pieces, such as the wearable Anxiety Suit, into situations different from a sterile white backdrop or plain mannequin.
